A Gathering of Eagles III Here's a fuller version of the Gathering of Eagles press conference here in DC at the National Press Club, February 22. It's almost 20 minutes long, but worth the watch. Things seem to be picking up steam ... this could get real interesting.

Apologize if this is the second copy, but something got messed up.

Two typos corrected in this version, one reference to Malkin & two a typo at the end.

**************

Just came across your blog via M. Malkin.

What a marvelous blog title. I knew what your title referred to as soon as I saw it. Wonder how many do without your explanation.

Waugh is one of my favorite authors & Brideshead a great, tho, I suspect, largely forgotten novel. His sadness at what Hooper represents & his economy of words in describing how he felt was touching.

Words fail me when it comes to describing the age of Sheehan as they did during the age of Fonda & Kerry.

PS I used the opening of Waugh’s Decline & Fall (baying for broken glass) to put the Duke fiasco in some perspective, but my moralist friends ignored it.
