"TROOPS OUT NOW" MARCH AND ACTION, WASHINGTON DC: SEPTEMBER 29, 2007 Well, at least she got the symbol right. Usually these folks just end up carrying around ads for Mercedes-Benz. Still, given the probable average income of the families these kids spring out of the confusion is to be expected, I suppose... Q.E.D. **** UPDATE **** Here's some video. More will follow. UPDATE: I've posted Part 2 of the above video: Click Here **** Of course, an over-abundance of left-wing-academic indoctrination isn't the only thing that sets these folks apart. There's the other, paranoid simpleton village-idiot side of the coin. I, at least, know how to spell "News" ... This guy for instance ... I couldn't figure out if he was just some sort of village-idiot type who wandered into the protest, or is in fact ... [for example] ... a well-respected professor at some university earning tenure. The line can be pretty fine sometimes. Check the shoes. With ever step he desecrates the flag. Nice, huh? Then again, there are legions of those who simply want yet another excuse to display their foul-mouthed narcissism. And they're damn proud of it! There were puppets, too. Sorta lame. Check the "Visit Cuba" t-shirt, though. There were the subtle ironies, also ... ... some of which simply escape the protest community. There were meditation circles ... ... and suburban-guilt ridden Mumia partisans. Many of the costumes I see on these marches repeat from one protest to the next so I won't bore either you or myself with that repetition. These, though, were new. At least to me. "Oil" and "Imperialism" were big themes at this protest. Just how many of these folks wonder how devastating it would be to both our economy as well as their own personal lives if "oil" ever got either cut off or made prohibitively expensive? Just how do they think all that organic food gets to their local Safeway anyway? Ron Paul supporters have gotten pretty common at these events. The funny thing is ... no one is quite sure how to react to them. There was a lot of dancing at this one. I will, as usual, make a video documenting the "musical" aspects of this march. Please check back. You'd be surprised at how many very young children you see at these things. Or perhaps you wouldn't be. I always am. And what, I ask you, would a protest march be without ... the CHE! Cripes ... I knew a kid in middle school that looked just like this. I hated that kid. I think he's pumping gas now somewhere in Mississippi. Or he's a lawyer. Fidel himself made an unexpected cameo appearance. Something fairly new ... the Chavez supporter. We also had our fair share of unrepentant communists. This was a whole family. You see a lot of that at these marches. It's part of the whole "red baby" syndrome. Sorta like any other religion, Communism gets handed down from one unquestioning generation to the next. These people are probably indistinguishable from your neighbors in every other respect, and hold down nice jobs. As with any religion, consistency of belief doesn't matter here ... at least not on a day to day basis. For these folks attending protests is probably akin to taking communion. These folks [above] were actually selling a very cool looking t-shirt with this logo on front. Kinda expensive for a protest-march shirt [$20] but I almost got one ... except that just as I was about to the cops shut them down. I'm not sure why. Video to follow. Otherwise ... until next time!

What a bunch of bottom feeders. The pictures with the small children is just further proof that leftard indoctrination begins early, those children will be Kucinich disciples soon. Lovely.

Great pics, what a shame they weren't just Halloween costumes.

they claim not to be anti-American, yet wear anti-American clothing, carry anti-American signs, and desecrate the flag. Interesting.

Is the gay/lesbian sign left pant leg rolled up or the right? I never can get it straight...

Sad that so many American youths are so misguides and misinformed (as well as ill-informed). We can most likely thank our public school system (government schools) as well as colleges and universities. I also can never understand the fetish with communism. Is it laziness? This way these people would like to be factory worker types where no one is better than anyone else and everyone is worth the same (almost sounds like a union description)? They were probably never told that that is how this country started. It didn't take long to learn that when people are independent, their productivity greatly surpasses that of a commune. Hence, capitalism, entrepreneurs, competition, the free-market. It's a no-brainer.

I love all the signs and t-shirts for the dictators that have killed millions... I'm disappointed I did not see Ho Chi Minh or Pol Pot.
Too bad they don't migrate to China, the tanks would rolling over them left and right... lol

Check them out, folks - the future leaders of the modern Democratic Party.

Vote Hillary Clinton, Vote Barack Hussein Obama, Vote Little John Downwards - these people will control the country.

Now that is frightening.

If you gave a shit about the troops, you'd support them n completing their mission. Truth is, you are an amoral narcissistic fuck who couldn't give a damn regarding your ethical and intellectual superiors who are volunteers in the U.S. military.

(They also have balls far bigger than yours.)

I am a two time veteran of Operation Iraqi Freedom and I am honestly disgusted by these hippie protests that say they support me.
They do not support me and they never have, I have sacrificed life and limb for protecting my people from tyranny and what have they done? Exercised the rights that my friends and I secured for them with our bravery. Wow Thanks MoveON you sure have taken full advantage of the system huh?
These people are no different than the hippies that threw dung at soldiers arriving home from Vietnam. When I was in Ramadi I got to hear on a daily basis how exactly immoral and terrible the war that I was fighting in was. Those things were things I heard from US Congressmen and women, like Nancy Pelosi, these people are a disgrace to me and people like my grandfather who fought the Nazis, another bit of tyranny surpressed for these hippie shmucks to be able to spout their hatred.
I pray each day we wake up from our liberal dream, truely commit to countries like Israel who have been fighting this scourge for far too long.
God Bless, and thanks for the chance to say what I think!

Learn to do something other than recite the drivel of the current neo-con corporate driven leadership..

Learn to do something other than being the stupid, fat, over-consuming 'American' that the rest of the world criticizes us for.

Thanks kingbhudda! Sorry to have poked your good-looking vs. ugly issue. Good luck with that!

mike strunk - if you were really interested in protecting people from tyranny you would be joining us in the streets and struggling against this criminal war and oppressive system. Instead, you kill Iraqis under the misguided pretense of "national interest".

You also speak like everyone in the military wants to be in Iraq doing what they are doing. This is not so, many of these "hippie protesters" that you hate so much are ex-military combatants in Iraq. These people were brave enough to risk going to military prison by going AWOL because they knew what they were doing is fucked up.

You mentioned the nazis. That's interesting. Who did the majority of the fighting (and dying) to overthrow the nazis and smash fascism in europe? Where was the majority of the war against japanese imperialism fought? The dinky little islands that the americans squabbled over, or mainland China?

If it weren't for communists - the nazis would have won.

This is really evident in the fact that around 24 million soviet partisans died, around 19 million chinese (united under the banner of the communist party)...along with numerous resistance militants all over occupied Europe.

Compare this to the United States and United Kingdom, who lost a little over a million people combined.

What does that tell you about World War Two? What does that tell you about "great american heros" and the "communist traitors"?

I am not saying that americans who fought in world war two were cowards...but their governments certainly were!

You wonder why so many radical-minded youths affiliate with communism? It is because the history of socialism (the true history, not the distortions you "learned" in remedial high school history) is a history of liberation and struggle against oppression. Yeah, a lot of mistakes have been made in the history and the true interests of the proletariat were not always put forward...but the Soviet Union and the People's Republic of China (when they were socialist countries, 1917-1956 and 1949-1976 respectively) were certainly much more liberated on a much wider scale than people in the United States or its neo-colonies.

check out www.thisiscommunism.org and think for yourself.

It isn't communists who are uneducated or misinformed, but anti-communists.

Who among you have actually read Marx or Engels or Lenin seriously? Who has taken a deep and comparative analysis of say..the political economy of the Soviet Union?

Do the words dialectical materialism mean anything to you? Do you understand the labor theory of value?

It would help for pig ignorant philistines to keep their mouths shut until they actually know what they're talking about.

You also have to realize that people at these protests don't all have a unified political ideology. Some people at the protests are genuinely not "anti-american"and think that it is within the best interests for the U.S. to withdraw from Iraq.

However, lots of us are anti-imperialists and thus have nothing but disdain for the United States. This is why we burned the flag, this is why we chant "bring the war home!" and this is why we don't put up with pro-war fascists like you.

So, let's say that Saddam did have weapons of mass destruction, and that he was directly involved with the Sept. 11 attacks. In this scenario our invasion would be fully justified.

Why did we allow the massive looting that included the destruction of so much of the country's artistic heritage as well as vital records? I personally have great faith in our troops and am sure they could have prevented this had they been allowed to. Why weren't they?

Why did we disband the Iraqi military, which was one of the few entities in the country that included both Sunni and Shiite?

Why is the Iraqi government currently spending US MONEY to buy weapons from China?

Even if you stretch the truth to justify the invasion and occupation, this endeavor has been horribly botched. Numerous soldiers and civilians have lost their lives because of the Bush administration's lack of planning and swaggering arrogance.

IMPEACH!!!!

CharlesR said...

Cast Blaster ...

I don't know why you guys continue to think that we believe that Saddam had any direct involvement in 9/11. NO ONE thinks that. Stop wasting your breath. And, frankly [speaking for myself] the WMD thing was not the salient argument for invading Iraq, so arguing against that is, for me at least, irrelevant.

We all know that this war has been botched in countless ways. If you were a student of history, maybe you'd understand that ALL wars are botched in one way or another. Did anyone talk seriously about impeaching FDR for the military's blindness before Pearl Harbor, or leaving the Ardennes lightly guarded before the Battle of the Bulge? Or Lincoln for the incredible military failure at Chancellorsville? Of course not ... any thinking person knows that that would be absurd.

I’m not a big fan of Bush myself. I had hoped that he would prosecute this war more vigorously and not allow Syria and Iran and Saudi Arabia to supply weapons or personnel. But impeachment? Get real. Even if he was guilty of any actual crimes and misdemeanors and not just poor judgment it would take many months for Congress to get the hearings rolling and by that time we’d be so deep into the Presidential Election no one would care. Besides, the LAST thing the Democrats would want next year is to be embroiled in such a messy and controversial business. Grow up. Ain’t gonna happen. Move on. Get therapy.

Please.

And you're right ... there were many other illiterate idiots just like you. That was the whole point.

Charlesr,

Why ARE we in Iraq then? No wmds, no 9/11 connection? What's the latest warmonger excuse for invading a sovereign nation?

And I wish you people would quit making comparisons to World War 2. The occupation of Germany was a finely executed and successful endeavor-especially when you compare it to this one.

Impeachment needs to happen so that future administrations will not feel that they can do whatever lines their pockets regardless of what the American people want and the constitution dictates.

Sure, it's not a great thing for the Democrats to do politically, but sometimes you need to do things simply because they are the right things to do.

BTW, can't wait to see those torture memos.

WWII was just an example of another bungled conflict. Any war would do. Note I also used an example from the civil war. My point was obvious to the literate among us: Mismanagement of a war is NOT an impeachable offense ... it NEVER was. If mismanagement of war was an impeachable offense then EVERY US President who conducted a war should have been impeached. Please learn to read before you start spouting your canned jargon.

Also, any time you can find me a group of politicians that does the right thing just because it's the right thing to do let me know ... Democrat or Republican they'll get my vote. I'm not holding my breath.

Cast Blaster said...

I agree. Mismanaging a war and causing the deaths of thousands of US Soldiers, hundreds of thousands of Iraqi civilians, and the displacement of over a million is not an impeachable offense.

Using the DOJ as your private partisan tool is. Lying to congress and the American people is. Authorizing torture should be. Outing a CIA agent because her husband didn't back up your flawed reasoning to invade a sovereign nation is.

I also agree that there is no group of politicians anywhere that does anything simply because it is right and just. Like you, I will vote for them if they ever come.

Also, I am in therapy, I do know how to read, I support Ron Paul for president, and my canned jargon comes is organically grown and wheat free.

Thanks so much for giving such well deserved attention to the march on Sept. 29. It was the first protest I have ever attended and was afraid it would go unnoticed after the one I missed on the 15th.

I realize that we are very different people politically, but nonetheless, you posted some great images and videos. More than I've been able to find anywhere else on the net.

It's also been great fun debating with you. Most of the pro-war folks in my hometown just yell about blind support of the Bush Administration and would probably go along with bombing Brazil if that's what King George wanted.
